| Description: | Part-time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, $2,000/yr. - Available immediately. This position requires the ability to assist in the implementation, instruction and supervision of the Men’s Basketball Program and the participating student-athletes. Individual must have an ability to work a flexible schedule in order to assist with most practice sessions and all season games. A strong desire to coach college students to succeed on the court and in the classroom is critical. This individual must have a valid driver's license and be able to assist with team van transportation. Recruiting student athletes and other related duties to assist the Head Coach will be required. Application review will begin immediately. SUMMARY Assists in the implementation, instruction and supervision of the Men's Basketball program and participating student athletes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): Promote the Men’s Basketball program and Cumberland County College in the community and high schools, including the recruitment of student athletes for the basketball team. Provide team supervision and coordination. Perform duties of the Head Coach in his/her absence. Provide individual and team instruction, skill development and techniques, conditioning and preparation for basketball team and members. Assist in the monitoring of team members' academic progress and performance and make referral to appropriate College office and services to enhance student's academic success. Assist with athlete eligibility certification and completion of forms and medical examinations for practice and team eligibility. Report any incidents of player injury, misconduct, disruptive behavior and travel/transportation accidents. Assist in coordinating special project fundraising activities for the basketball team. Assist with off season basketball team activities, including training, academic support and referrals. Performs other related duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director. |
