A quick rumor....

Posted by The DirtKing on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 1:57pm.

Our sources are telling us that Northeastern Head Coach Bill Coen is going to agree to a contract extension. Apparently it has already been approved by the Board of Trustees. Coen has done a great job at NU is his 4+ seasons. The Huskys are currently 15-8 (10-2 CAA) and 61-57 during Coen's tenure.

Also, check out the new poll in our forum. With rumors swirling that the NCAA is going to expand the "Big Dance" to 96 teams, I just wanted to get a feeling for what others thought. I think it's insane, but let us know what you think.

Northeastern should at least triple Coen's salary to keep him at Northeastern. He should be the one of the top 5 sought after coaches during this years carousel. Beating VCU twice and George Mason by 25 in their only meeting. Triple his salary and it's still not close to GM or VCU. I hope they gave him a good deal.

whats wrong w/ 32 seeded teams getting a bye in the 1st round and 64 teams playing w/ the winners moving on.

True regional pairings could be set up to help create interest in the prelim games.

NCAA is run by a bunch of buffoons! Conference Championships mean nothing if you bring the field up to 96 teams. You might as well throw in everybody into one tournament. There is no difference....

96 team no way it should happen this just shows how $ hungry the NCAA is, they are the true crooks in this game of basketball. It's fine the way it is.
